    GUIDELINES FOR THESIS:
  • A learner can start the internship after he/ she has completed all her written exams and assignment submissions. The Learner has to search the guide.
  • Eligibility for the guide:
    1. PG degree in Nutrition.
    2. Minimum 2 paper presentation on her name as an author.
    3. Guide has to fill up the approval form on the IGNOU website.
  • Approval will be communicated via mail from the IGNOU office.
  • The learner has to send a mail to study centre with the following details for getting the guide letter:
    1. Name and designation of the guide
    2. Proof of the approval of the guide
    3. CV of the guide
    4. Name and enrolment no of the learner
  • After sending a mail to the study centre with the above mentioned details the learner can expect the letter within 7 working days only if the guide has an approval.
  • The final thesis/ project book has to be submitted to the study centre for further evaluation- 2nd floor and fill in the register. Submit to Mr Shashi Jagde or Ms Jagruti P.
  • The book needs to have the signature of the learner and guide.
  • After the evaluation by the study centre, date will be finalized for the viva voce and will be communicated via email to the learner.
  • The learner has to be ready with their power-point presentation (10-12 minutes max.) describing the title, aims & objectives, methodology, results & discussion, conclusion and references for the study done as soon as the learner submits the thesis.
  • It is student’s responsibility to inform date of viva to the guide and the presence of guide is compulsory during the viva.
  • Further details will be shared during viva schedule.
  • Marks will be uploaded on the website in min 30-40 days.

    GUIDELINES FOR PRACTICAL:
  • Practical manuals will be given to you by the IGNOU headquarters. In case, if you do not receive, contact headquarters. Study centre doesn’t look into the manuals.
  • Manuals are compulsory for the practical
  • Schedule of practical will be announced on the IGNOU and study centre website. Mail will also be forwarded to students by IGNOU. Check your inbox regularly.
  • Date of practical is based on the availability of labs in study centre
  • Students having admission in the first year can attend only first year ‘s practical
  • 100% attendance is compulsory for all subject’s practical.
  • Results will be declared in minimum 30-40 days or beyond.
  • Detailed instructions about the practical will be uploaded with the schedule on the website
  • If there is any query related to the eligibility of the learner, contact- IGNOU Regional Centre (RC)

    GUIDELINES FOR INTERNSHIP:
  • Learner is eligible for internship only after completing the theory papers for first year and the practical for both the years.
  • Compulsory 3-month internship in a multi-speciality hospital under the Food service or dietetics department under the guidance of RD is compulsory.
  • Internship can be done in the hospitals across the nations.
  • Study centre doesn’t provide any choice/approved list of hospitals for internship.
  • The internship letter can be requested from the study centre via email only.
  • The learner has to provide information for the letter: name of the hospital, address of the hospital, whom to address the letter, name of the learner, enrolment no.
  • After sending a mail to the study centre the learner can expect the letter within 7 working days. Learner will also receive an internal evaluation sheet.
  • At the end of the internship the completed manual/ report (provided by the headquarters) and the internal evaluation sheet sent via mail (as mentioned above) has to be signed by the chief dietician of the hospital.
  • The original manual has to be submitted at IGNOU headquarters, address for the same has been given in the manual.
  • The internal evaluation (original) and the photocopy of the internship certificate (present in the manual) has to be submitted to the study centre.
    CREDIT TRANSFER FOR INTERNSHIP:
  • The form for credit transfer is available in program guide.
  • The form can be filled and sent to headquarters with a specified amount of DD mentioned in the program guide. (continued on page 2)
  • Credit transfer is only valid for internship done in a dietetic department of a hospital under a post graduate diploma or post graduate master degree course in the field of nutrition. The Study centre is not involved in credit transfer anywhere

    GUIDELINES FOR ASSIGNMENTS:
  • Completing assignment is COMPLUSORY before theory exams.
  • Question paper can be obtained from the IGNOU website. Study centre doesn’t provide question papers.
  • Assignment has to be HAND WRITTEN only on any choice of paper size (preferably A4) and compulsorily either blank or ruled WHITE sheets.
  • Learner is allowed to use only a BLUE or BLACK PEN, and can fill up the assignment in one or both sides of the paper.
  • Attach respective subject QUESTION PAPER in the beginning of all the assignments
  • Start and the end date of the assignment submission will be uploaded on the website.
  • No assignment collection will be entertained later after the submission date is over.
  • Assignments will be collected at the study centre only in the hard copy form.
  • Assignment collection will be done on the second floor of the Study Centre- DR BMN College of Home Science by Mr Shashi Jagde and Mrs Jagruti Pendhari.
  • Learner has to make sure to enter their name and date in the register for receiving the receipt of the assignment submission.
  • Assignment correction will be completed in min 30-40 days after the last date of submission.
  • Marks will be uploaded on IGNOU website.
  • Students have to complete all first year assignments before submitting the second year assignments

Study centre does not get involved in:
  • Fresh admission or any Re registration
  • PGDDPN and DNHE programs
  • Id card/ hall tickets
  • Manual distributions
  • Any theory exam related details
  • Uploading of any marks
  • The study centre may conduct some theory lecture for each subject. The schedule for the same will be mailed or uploaded on the website.
  • However, since this year all the lectures are online, the study centre is not conducting any theoretical lectures. All theory lectures will be conducted by Pune study centre.
  • Learners have to constantly keep on checking the website for any new announcements.
